Habitat

Found exclusively in humid montane cloud forests, elfin forest, and dense bamboo thickets within subtropical and temperate zones of the Andes. It typically inhabits elevations ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 meters (approx. 8,200 to 11,500 feet).

Diet

Its diet consists mainly of various invertebrates, including insects such as beetles, ants, and orthopterans, as well as spiders and other small arthropods. Foraging occurs primarily on the forest floor, where it gleans prey from leaf litter and dense undergrowth.
